Bus over Tirana river to become installation

TIRANA, Albania, May 14 (NewsOnAlbania) - A bus that crashed over the central river in Tirana, the capital of Albania, will be temporarily removed for investigation before being returned to the original crash site as an installation.

According to the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, the relocation of the bus was done at the request of the prosecution that is investigating the accident.

The crashed happened on April 29, apparently caused by the accelerator pedal of the bus becoming jammed, according to a policeman at the scene the following day.

The 62-year-old bus driver has been charged with reckless driving.

The bus crashed into a car before knocking over a tree and careering down the river bank where it eventually ended up spanning Lana River, the main stream that crosses through Tirana.

Three citizens were slightly injured in the accident, two of whom were inside the car.
